The article provides information on the CEKA Dental Volunteer Project conceived by Irish President Mary McAleese, her husband Martin, professor Noel Claffey, Doctor Garry McMahon and Doctor Paul Sullivan in 2003. The aim of the project is to address dental disease in the village of Embul-bul in Ngong, Kenya. A dental treatment centre was set up on the grounds of a small convent and a church in coordination with local priests and nuns. There are currently two dental units at the clinic.
